Dogs come in a variety of eye colours. Various shades of brown
are most common, but there are also different hues of blue, and sometimes even
eyes that are part blue and part brown!
Dogs that cannot produce black eumelanin can't have truly dark brown eyes
because they are unable to produce the required black pigment. Their eyes are
amber or light brown.
Blue eyes (and partially blue) are most commonly seen in blue merles and is a
lack of pigment in the eyes. But some breeds, like siberian huskies, can have
blue eyes in other colours too.
On this page you will find some photo examples of different eye colours.
